This is my composition and there is another version with the vibraphone, which I haven’t recorded yet. I made this during Covid pandemic time in 2020. I filmed this at Nudgee beach, QLD. Such a beautiful place to visit.
This is Mariana trench. This piece was premiered in 2019 by Ba Da Boom percussion ensemble, Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium. In 2023, this was played in Brazil too.
The Sounds of Uncertain Walls was inspired by Haruki Murakami’s novel ‘The City and Its Uncertain Walls’ (2023), Shugorei shapes a gentle, dreamlike soundscape that feels enchanted yet grounded in the here and now. I improvised and Shugorei partner Thomas Green added all other materials.
